Miquela Vidal
Miquela Vidal is a renowned artist from Campos, Mallorca, whose artistic career spans from 1976 to the present day. She began her training at the School of Applied Arts in Palma and continued at various private academies, where she learned different graphic art and sculpture techniques. Her exhibition debut took place in 1980 in her hometown, and since then, she has showcased her work across numerous locations in Mallorca, other regions of Spain, and internationally, including cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Geneva, Washington, Berlin, Havana, and more.
Throughout her career, she has participated in various art competitions, earning recognitions such as the first Princess Sofia Award and the First Diploma of Honor for her contribution to sculpture. Vidal has also actively collaborated with non-governmental organizations, notably with the AECC of the Balearic Islands. Her work has transcended art galleries, reaching public spaces where her sculptures adorn locations like the Es Baluard Museum, the Treasury Delegation in Palma, and the Can Prunera Museum in Sóller, among others.
In addition to her work as an artist, she has been teaching painting at the "Sostre d'Art" school since 2011. Her studio-home, a 16th-century building, has hosted numerous cultural events, including exhibitions, performances, and fashion shows. Critics, such as the renowned Camilo José Cela Conde, have praised Vidal’s ability to capture the essence of beauty in her works, noting that her art reflects an intrinsic quest for beauty that transcends the boundaries of time and space.
