Núria Bosch

Núria Bosch is a Spanish artist, graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, and part of the New Figuratism movement. Her classical training and mastery of painting techniques are clearly reflected in her work, as well as her ongoing pursuit to go beyond traditional knowledge and explore new paths in her art. In her most recent phase, Bosch draws inspiration from the Pop Art of the 60s and Urban Art of the 80s, adapting and reinterpreting their icons in an irreverent and playful way. Her style has become freer and more spontaneous, experimenting with light and color. She uses thick, solid brushstrokes that break with conventional forms, displaying complete freedom in the handling of materials, blending fine art techniques with graffiti influences.

Within the realm of New Figuratism, Núria Bosch has developed a unique and well-defined style. Since childhood, she showed an interest in art, particularly in the representation of the human figure, with a strong inclination toward expressionism, which led her to supplement her formal studies with private painting lessons until completing her Artistic Baccalaureate. During her time at the Fine Arts Faculty of Barcelona, her work focused on the human figure, exploring how the states of the soul manifest in the physical and bodily form. Her work evolved into a deeper reflection on feelings, infused with nature and eroticism. In this phase, she developed a deep and poetic connection with painting, refining her expressive abilities within realism.

In her final year of studies, she spent time in Mexico, where she experimented with still lifes and vanitas. Upon returning to Mallorca, she began a new phase where she started incorporating interior backgrounds into her works, moving away from the vaporous backgrounds that had once enveloped the figures. It was during this time that she began to explore depictions of landscapes and architecture, sparking an unexpected interest that would become an important part of her artistic creation. In her most recent phase, her work reflects her island identity, focusing on coastal scenes where she captures the transparency of the sea or pays homage to the figure of the lighthouse, symbolizing a strong personality in its isolation.

Always seeking new forms of expression, Núria Bosch continues to experiment with different painting techniques, maintaining in all her works a constant search for intense emotions and the feelings they convey.
